The FIE7009 32-bit 166MHz FA510 embedded RISC processor platform is a cost-effective, low-power, and high performance SoC solution targeting hand-held devices and internet appliance applications.Faraday also provides FA510-based Media Library like MP3/WMA/AAC/JPEG decoder to help customers enter into multimedia application markets.In conjunction with the platform, Faraday provides pre-verified technologies and developing board for customers to develop their unique ASIC SoC with shorter design turn-around time. The board is a virtual development tool, providing necessary OS design kit and drivers to ease the software design efforts and entry barrier. Consequently, customers can easily reduce the software and system development cost to 1/3 ~ 1/4 of the non-platform alternative.

Cost Optimized 32-Bit SoC for the Upgrade of 16-Bit or 8-Bit CPU Applications

The FIE7009 supports a complete set of system peripherals with power management
capability that minimizes overall system costs and eliminates the need to additional component, which makes it particularly suitable for cost-sensitive power-sensitive applications. The embedded PCI controller is capable of supporting PCI device controllers. With PCI-USB host and wireless LAN extensions, FIE7009 the bridge between the Internet and USB devices by connecting any USB devices link to a network via wireless LAN. It also satisfies a variety of industrial requirements on co-work of devices of different interface. The 166MHz FIE7009 support application software developed on proprietary OS such as uCLinux.

Complete and Ready Solution to Enable Wireless LAN SoC

One of the popular applications of FIE7009 is the Internet radio. With the supports of wireless LAN driver and Faraday Media Library, customers can easily complete the verification and software developing in one month. Not only 802.11b and 802,11g are supported, the driver is also compatible with WPA personal and WPAII personal standards. A complete certification flow is also available for customers who wish to obtain the wireless LAN certification.
